    "methodology": "These codes were mapped first in snomed using the opencodelist builder. The search terms used were: \n\n\n- appendicitis\n- appendix\n- appendicectomy\n\n\nThe codes were discussed by 3 practicing doctors. A summary of this discussion is available on the github issue below. The main points were:\n\n\n- codes indicating chronic or recurrent appendicitis were removed\n- codes indicating a specific cause of appendicitis such as in relation to Crohns disease or amoebic were removed\n- codes indicating length of appendix as a specimen after surgery were kept.\n\n\nThese codes were mapped to CTV3 and rechecked. Some extinct codes were found during this mapping and removed. \n\n\nThe final codelist was signed off by the 3 clinicians indicated below.\n\n",
