    Codes that were used to identify any drug and alcohol related healthcare events in SAIL Databank data, as part of the Better Outcomes Through Linked Data (BOLD) project. BOLD is a government data-linking programme which aims to improve the connectedness of government data in England and Wales. In BOLD Wales, SAIL Databank collaborated with Public Health Wales and the Welsh Government to investigate Substance Misuse.

    Read Codes were used to find drug and alcohol related events matching the variable EVENT_CD in the Welsh Longitudinal General Practice dataset (WLGP). ICD-10 codes were used to find diagnoses matching the variable DIAG_CD within the Patient Episode Dataset for Wales (PEDW), Outpatients Database for Wales (OPDW), and Annual District Deaths Extract (ADDE) dataset.
