    This is a codelist that identifies SNOMED codes where a Directing Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs) is explicitly contraindicated. They have previously been know as NOACs.

  3. Methodology

    The OpenCodelists Snomed browser was searched using the following terms

    • anticoagulant
    • apixaban
    • doac
    • edoxaban*
    • rivaroxaban

    All codes that indicated an explicit contraindication to DOACs were included. Non-specific codes such as anticoagulation contraindicated NOS were not included.

    *Edoxaban does not appear to have explicit contraindications whereas the other DOACs do.
