    This codelist was taken from OpenCodelists, created by OpenSAFELY. We recommend viewing this Phenotype on the OpenCodelist website to view the most recent version.

    This codelist contains codes from the NHS dictionary of medicines and devices (dm+d) for antidepressants that are known as Monoamine oxidase inhibitors. All formulations of these medicines have been included. Moclobemide is a Reversible Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor. These medicines are licensed to treat depression. Moclobemide is also licensed to treat social anxiety.

  3. Methodology

    All BNF codes that begin with 040302 were included (known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors). No exceptions were made. For some studies it may be necessary to include other antidepressant codelists (currently in development on OpenSAFELY). These BNF codes were then mapped to dm+d using OpenPrescribing methodology.
